Delmonico's will reopen in September three years after a pandemic-related closure that was aggravated by in-fighting among the partners who had run the business since 1999 and seemed poised to kill the legendary diner.

Reopening, including the heated dispute among former partners, was difficult. Turcinovic and Licol announced a 15-year property lease earlier this year.

The Grgurev family, Turcinovic's former partners, disputed the new lease, saying they still owned the Delmonico's name despite the owner's earlier attempt to

Delmonico's will reopen under new management in the fall with a completely remodeled facility. The restaurant debuted on Beaver Street in 1837, but its new decor is modern and compliments its 21st-century menu.

What Now New York reported that Edward J. Hong, a Michelin-starred chef, will lead the kitchen and add his own flair to Delmonico's classics like lobster Newberg, Baked Alaska, and Delmonico steak.

"Delmonico's is a restaurant with deep-rooted history," Turcinovic told What Now New York. It was the first restaurant, cookbook, and women's table.
